Как обезопасить себя от взлома учетной записи

Last modified:

At present, Netex Trade has implemented some important security measures. The following is a list of security instruments available on the Netex Trade exchange:

  • Sophisticated password – the first line of defense for all users is to create a sophisticated password that will be difficult to replicate or guess. Be sure to include multiple capital letters, symbols and numbers to increase the difficulty of the password.
  • 2FA – 2 factor authentication via mobile phone to ensure that the account holder is the one accessing the platform.
  • IP Whitelist – a list of allowed IP addresses from which the user will be allowed to log in for authorization.
  • Suspicious activity trackers – a set of tools for tracking suspicious activity.

What Is Suspicious Activity?

Suspicious activity on an account refers to actions taking place through that account, which do not correspond to its usual activities or are against platform policy. Among the factors that could lead to account bans are:

  • Logins from an unknown device;
  • Letters or records in a personal account about unsuccessful login attempts;
  • Frequent changes in security settings without the user’s approval, such as the disabling of 2FA, or repeated changes of the password.

Users will be able to identify suspicious activity that can indicate that their account has been compromised. Some of the main actions that could indicate suspicious activity are:

  • Email notifications about activities that users did not make, such as login attempts from an unfamiliar device;
  • Unfamiliar actions in the “Your actions” section of the personal account;
  • Extra windows in the “Active sessions” section of the personal account.

Remedial Steps

In case users receive a notification that they have logged into their account, but have not done so on their own, the first step should be an immediate change of password and ensure the availability of 2FA. The suspicious session in the personal account must be immediately deleted and the account access credentials changed.

The account must then immediately be blocked via the password change letter. Any withdrawals made immediately prior to that will be automatically canceled. Any withdrawals can be blocked while they are in the “created” and “processing” status. The attackers will lose access to the compromised account and users will be able to unlock their account by going through the account unlock procedure and verifying their identity.

Website Threats

Phishing websites remain one of the main reasons why users’ accounts get hacked. The hackers are constantly duplicating credible websites in minutest detail to mimic the real ones and thus dupe users into logging in. The same applies to emails and announcements.

If users of Netex access the exchange’s website through a browser, we urge them to always check the website’s URL. It must start with https://netex.trade. Never enter your Netex trade account login and password on any other websites.

If you received a letter on behalf of Netex trade, please check that the website address matches the official site of the Netex.trade exchange.

Our support staff will never ask you for your account password. Never share your password with third parties. Netex Trade will also never ask you to transfer funds to third-party wallets.

The Dangers Posed by Phishing

The internet is becoming an ever more dangerous place for users who are unaware of proper measures that have to be taken in order to secure their accounts. One of the biggest threats being posed to users’ security at present is phishing.

With security layers on websites and decentralized platforms becoming more sophisticated, the hackers are finding it easier and more profitable to resort to social engineering as their main weapon. By leveraging the human factor as the weak link in the security chain, the hackers are able to gain access to users’ personal data by simply impersonating credible market players.

APWG recorded 1,025,968 phishing attacks in Q1 of 2022. Phishing attacks against social media sets rose from 8.5% of all attacks in Q4 of 2021 to 12.5% in Q1 of 2022. Around 65% of cybercriminals have leveraged spear phishing emails as their primary attack vector. If successful, phishing attacks can have devastating consequences.

According to Proofpoint’s 2022 State of the Phish Report, a whopping 83% of organizations said they had suffered successful phishing attacks last year. Of them, 54% ended in a customer or client data breach. Bulk phishing was the most common type of phishing attack. In total, 86% of organizations faced such attacks in 2021.

Phishing is a serious threat to internet users and it is becoming ever more severe with every passing year. We encourage our users to take exhaustive preventative measures by securing their accounts with strong passwords and making sure that 2FA is active. Never follow any unverified links and be certain to check website URLs before accessing them.
